Answer all of your questions
Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in the body. High amounts of Hyaluronic acid are found in the connective tissue, in the fluid surrounding the eyes, in some cartilage and joint fluids and in the skin.
HA is the body’s own natural skin plumper and so has an almost impossible risk of an allergic reaction
At MyPureAesthetics, we use Juvederm, Restylane, Teosyal and Revolax. We pick the one we feel will suit you best as an individual, based on the various properties of them that suit you best.
Thinner, or less dense fillers are used for surface areas like lips, and thicker ones are injected deeper to plump cheeks or chin.
Depending on the type of Dermal Filler used it can last between 6 to 12 months. Duration depends on many factors, such as the individual’s skin type, skin condition lifestyle and age, metabolism, the amount of exercise they do regularly, the normal blood flow to the face and whether they smoke.
For example, younger patients have a faster metabolism and increased blood flow to the face, and therefore their filler for example, may last at the shorter end of the normal scale and break down more readily. Other facial dermal fillers last longer, because other facial areas are not as mobile as the mouth, and as such fillers in these areas not broken down quite so quickly. There is no hard and fast rule to this, and everyone is different, which is important to remember.
After the initial treatment, follow-up sessions are normally recommended around every 3 to 12 months depending on the individual and the treatment.
Any injection causes an inflammatory response. This can easily cause disappointment over the following weeks because as the swelling subsides, the treatment area may look significantly less plump than it looked immediately after injection.
At MyPureAesthetics we only use top brands. The filler has not dissolved nor disappeared, you have not wasted your money. The filler has simply sunken and formed a layer at the base of your treatment area. Many clients find they need two or three sessions in order to layer filler on top of one another – until the filler no longer has room to sink – leaving you with a fuller look.
Unfortunately, we cannot predict how many sessions each individual will need to achieve their desired result and therefore cannot be held accountable if several sessions are needed. The results of your treatment durability and end results are influenced by several genetic and lifestyle factors completely out of our control.
By way of example, some people are blessed with the fast metabolism gene and can eat what they want, some naturally build muscle with little training, some never seem to develop wrinkles, some hair types hold a style better, and some lips respond beautifully to fillers and some lips just don’t. It doesn’t mean we can’t achieve the result you want, it just means you may have to use more filler to do it or we need a second appointment to tweak them. Please do be aware of this – it’s nothing you or your injector has done incorrectly, it just occurs in some faces!
HA occurs naturally in your eye fluids, your joints and all over the human body. As such, it’s incredibly difficult to be allergic to it. The horror stories seen on TV are normally concerning permanent, silicon based fillers. At MyPureAesthetics we only use Hyaluronic acid based fillers.
Of course, however this is entirely up to you – but most patients do indeed.
The discomfort is pretty minimal. We use a very strong numbing cream which we leave it on the area for at least 15 minutes before starting the procedure. Dental Blocks are also offered however you need to request this when you are booking your appointment.
*Please note there is a £15 extra charge for dental blocks and this can only be done in our Putney branch.
You may initially be swollen, red and bruised which will subside within the next 1 – 14 days, especially if the bruising is extensive.
Most people swell most the morning following treatment, but it quickly subsides, and the vast majority of patients report lip puffiness only for about 48 hours. How you react to the injections is often down to the individual. If you are prone to bruising, it would logically follow that your chances of doing so after this procedure, are elevated.
It is not uncommon for the treatment area to remain swollen for up to two weeks. During this time the area may look very uneven, feel bumpy, bruised, discoloured and may feel sore. Please do not panic. It is normal during this period to not be entirely happy with your results. Patience here is key.
*The final result will be apparent approximately 14 days after treatment. If you have any concerns, please book in for a review after this two-week period is up. Any initial discomfort during this period can be eased by application of ice.
EXPECTATIONS
Please remember we can only enhance our natural features. It is not possible to completely change them. Any treatment should be looked at as an improvement rather than a cure. It is not always possible to create the desired look if your facial anatomy does not allow. Please remember our faces are not symmetrical and sometimes no amount of filler can correct this – in some cases it may make it appear worse. Sometimes asymmetries in the lips are caused by muscle strength and tension – and not a lack of tissue itself, and this won’t be remedied by filler. Everyone is asymmetrical to a certain extent. Some lips respond better than others to filler, and there is no way of predicting this without injecting of course.
The above time frames for filler durability should be used as a guideline only. There is no guarantee the results will last for the durations stated above.
You might need several sessions to achieve your desired result or the results shown in our social media pages and our website. This is impossible to predict or determine as it is influenced by an individual’s anatomy/physiology plus lifestyle factors. No practitioner would guarantee zero bruising, or perfect results.
All clients must be 18 at the time of the treatment. Anyone that looks under the age of 25 will be asked for ID.
At MyPureAesthetics we use different injection techniques depending on the results we are trying to achieve. This can be discussed during your consultation.
HA FULLY REVERSIBLE from the time they are administered, until the time they are reabsorbed. So even in the unlikely event you didn’t like the results, we can reverse them in seconds.
They go exactly back to the way they were before you had them augmented.
That depends of course on the individual and the look you’re intending to achieve. 0.5ml is good for creating definition and shape. Giving you our honest opinion 0.5ml will show no difference at all.
Many patients come to us, asking for only 0.5ml because they “only want a very natural result”. However, 0.5ml is not intended for volume, more for definition or shape. 98% of our patients that have 0.5ml, come back for the same again which of course is a much more expensive way of having 1ml of filler administered.
Please note, we rarely administer more than 1ml – 1.5ml in a sitting, to give your tissue chance to expand naturally along with the filler.
The bigger your lip the more filler we might need to make a difference! Some patients possess far more spongy tissue (space) in their lips that takes much more filler to get the look they require, and these patients will need more. We never know what lip type you have until we start injecting.
Botulinum toxin injections, such as Botox, is a medical treatment that can help to restrict the movement of your facial muscles to make lines and wrinkles, such as crow’s feet and frown lines, appear less obvious.
Anti wrinkle injections are made of Botulinum toxin, such as Botox and Azzalure. It works by restricting the movement in your muscles which causes the lines and wrinkles to appear in the first place. Botulinum toxin is a protein produced by bacteria and it has been used successfully in non-surgical procedures for many years. It smooth’s away any wrinkles created by movement, especially on your forehead or around your eyes and all the other areas mentioned in our website.
Botulinum toxin is a protein produced by a bacteria and has been used successfully in non-surgical procedures for many years.
An anaesthetic is not essential as the procedure is quite painless, however, a topical anaesthetic can be applied. The botulinum toxin is then injected into the muscles in your face, where your lines appear. It is a very quick procedure and should take around 10 or 15 minutes.
With this muscle relaxing treatment, there might be some swelling and bruising, but this will be temporary. We advise that you try not to touch the area that has been treated for at least a few hours so that the botulinum toxin doesn’t spread to other muscles.
The procedure lasts around 3-6 months. In order to maintain the effect of smoother skin, you will need to have regular injections, about every 3-6 months. If you choose not to have this treatment again, it will not have any adverse effects on your skin but you will just develop normal lines and wrinkles over time.
We will carry out a full consultation with you prior to any procedure taking place. You must let us know during this meeting if you have had any condition affecting your muscles, or you have any allergies, or might be pregnant.
