- Apply numbing cream that will be left on the area for 15-20 minutes to ensure the area is numb enough to minimise discomfort
- Start injecting
- Clean area
- Area is lightly massaged by the practitioner
- Apply soothing lotion to the skin

Patients may experience slight bruising, swelling or redness. The treatment is carried out under topical anaesthetic, which means that patients are awake and can therefore see what is being done. The procedure takes around 20 minutes once injecting commences and there is no down-time.

The cheeks are an area that requires more filler in terms of quantity, as it’s a very large area that is being covered. Equally, we do not want to overdo the cheeks by putting too much filler in, so a consultation to discuss your aesthetic goals is highly necessary, and also two sessions may be better to administer the filler treatments.
